Adjunct Instructor of Spanish
Lees-McRae College invites applications for part-time Adjunct Instructors of Spanish for the Fall 2026 semester. We seek energetic, student-centered educators to teach three undergraduate courses in our Spanish and Hispanic Studies curriculum.
Courses to Be Taught:
The successful candidates will teach one of the following undergraduate courses:
- SPA
101:
Elementary Spanish I - SPA
201:
Intermediate Spanish I - SPA
310:
Spanish & Latin American Film
Position Responsibilities:
Teach one of three courses during the Fall 2026 semester. Deliver engaging, inclusive, and effective instruction to undergraduate students in both language and content-based courses. Design syllabi, course materials, assessments, and learning activities aligned with departmental and institutional learning outcomes. Employ student-centered and communicative pedagogical approaches appropriate to language and Hispanic Studies instruction. Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Hold limited office hours appropriate for an adjunct appointment. Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes academic success for a diverse student body.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field (completed by the start date). Demonstrated proficiency in both Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching Spanish and/or Hispanic Studies at the college level. Ability to teach upper-division Hispanic Studies courses (literature, culture, linguistics, film, history, or related areas). Experience using communicative and proficiency-based language teaching methods. Demonstrated commitment to high-impact, student-centered pedagogical practices and inclusive teaching.
