Qualifications: A four‑year degree from an accredited institution with NC certification in the assigned area of teaching.

Job Goal: To demonstrate leadership, establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, know the content taught, facilitate student learning, and reflect on practice.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Building leadership among staff and with administration to create consensus and shared ownership of the school’s vision.
• Making content engaging, relevant, and meaningful by aligning instruction with the Common Core, essential standards, and 21st‑century content—including global awareness, financial, economic, business, entrepreneurial literacy, civic literacy, and health awareness.
• Teaching core content that incorporates critical thinking, problem‑solving, and ICT literacy.
• Facilitating instruction using varied methods suitable for students, integrating technology.
• Using various assessment methods to gauge learning, support teamwork, and foster leadership skills.
• Working collaboratively with families and other adults, adapting instruction for students with special needs, and promoting fairness within the school community and worldwide.
• Demonstrating ethical principles—honesty, integrity, fair treatment, respect—per NC educators’ Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
• Serving as a team player and role model, committing to continuous improvement and supporting core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, customer‑orientation, and fairness.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Must communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
• Must have finger dexterity and be able to perform basic life operations such as kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
