Position SummaryThe primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus. The School of Nursing invites applications for the position of Instructor/Assistant Professor of Practice in its prelicensure track. This is a 9‑month, fixed‑term faculty position, anticipated beginning August 2026. Rank will be determined at the point of hire, commensurate with experience. The role requires teaching in the traditional BSN program (face‑to‑face and online) with some clinical teaching.
Responsibilities include teaching, course development, advising students, committee service, and other university activities. Candidates should possess outstanding communication skills, evidence of scholarly activity, and a commitment to the Boyer Model of Scholarship.
Masters degree in Nursing or BSN and a masters in a related field; eligibility for RN licensure in NC; two years teaching experience and two years of prior direct patient care as an RN; must meet nurse educator requirements as outlined by the NC Board of Nursing.
Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree in nursing or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesOutstanding communication skills; sustained scholarly activity; ability to teach and develop online and traditional courses; advise students; participate on committees and university activities.
