Qualifications- North Carolina‑related license
- School‑based Student Service experience
- North Carolina licensure in Curriculum and Instruction supervision or administration
- Master’s degree in an education‑related field
- Three years of successful experience preferred
- Assists in developing comprehensive program plans as well as implementing and evaluating the planned programs for Student Services
- Assists in determining program needs and allocates resources of staff and materials
- Attends meetings (i.e., Student Support Team and 504) with parents and staff in order to assist in facilitating appropriate programs and services for individual students
- Manages applications and other responsibilities associated with exemptions from compulsory education, including home‑schooled students and school drop‑outs
- Assists/prepares budgets, coordinates with other departments or agencies to assure maximum services, and maintains records/reports/inventories in accordance with local/state/federal policies
- Shares information about programs with various stakeholders, serves as a liaison as appropriate between the school system and other agencies pertaining to student services
- Gathers and analyzes program evaluation data
- Participates in regional and state meetings pertaining to student service programs as appropriate
- Shares information with staff regarding best practices in student service program developments, instructional issues, and state and federal requirements regarding services for support staff
- Consults with the staff and administrators regarding data collection (504, Safe Schools Discipline, Homeless, Military Impact, etc.)
- Coordinates and conducts professional development activities for staff working in the Student Services program
- Makes presentations district‑wide to Student Services staff, as well as other district employees, regarding working with students from a support staff perspective
- Stays informed of state and federal laws and procedures for programs
- Collaborates with district administrators in the selection and placement of student service personnel, delegates and supervises staff responsibilities
- Ensures, along with building administrators, that Student Service staff is providing appropriate instruction, support, and services to students
- Works with school counselors and graduation coaches to ensure placement in courses reflects graduation requirements and student career interests
- Manage all applications and other responsibilities associated with homebound education
- Serves as an advisor for School Support Teams to ensure Tier II and Tier III services are provided for students in need of support
- Attends meetings of county‑wide parent, student and military advisory committees to the Superintendent, and serves as Superintendent’s liaison with PTOs, PTAs, booster clubs and other parent groups as assigned by Director for Student Support Services
- Monitors the creation and service delivery of Personalized Education Plans (PEPs)
- Mentors and supports new counselors, social workers, and psychologists to Moore County Schools in collaboration with Exceptional Children staff, as appropriate
- Serves as district coordinator for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support, and provides ongoing training, support and program evaluation
