The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Instructor will provide classroom instruction utilizing effective teaching methods. The instructor will deliver basic and/or specialized instruction in patient care to volunteer and professional EMS personnel. Instructors prepare students for state certification and provide rigorous, high-quality continuing education for currently credentialed personnel. This posting is continuous to create a pool of qualified instructor candidates.
- Develop course syllabi, outlines, and lesson plans for curriculum courses assigned.
- Review and select appropriate textbooks and instructional materials
and media for the classes to be taught. - Develops lectures, classroom activities, and hands‑on exercises for
students to participate and learn. - Monitors and records student progress in courses.
- Administers tests or other evaluation methods to students.
- Keeps records of student attendance.
- Current EMT, AEMT or Paramedic Certification
- Level I or II EMS Instructor Certification
- EMS Methodology
- 3 years’ experience in EMS
