The instructor will work with students providing effective instruction in the assigned Continuing Education areas. Will perform a variety of routine duties, as needed, to teach structural fabricating, repair and maintenance, MIG, TIG, and ARC, OXY/ACE welding and cutting and plasma cutting to students from different backgrounds, ethnicity, nationalities, gender, ages, religions, or disabilities in the classroom and in the lab, using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations.
Responsibilities- Provides instruction to introduce or expand knowledge to students in the welding industry.
- Develop course syllabi, outlines, and lesson plans for curriculum courses assigned.
- Review and select appropriate textbooks, instructional materials, and media for the classes to be taught.
- Develop lectures, classroom activities, and hands‑on exercises for students to participate and learn.
- Monitors and records student progress in courses.
- Administers tests or other evaluation methods to students.
- Keeps records of student attendance.
Associate Degree in Welding Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience with 5-10 years welding experience. 3-5 years teaching experience preferred.
The ability to read welding symbols, experience with gas metal arc welding, shielded metal arc welding (STICK), plug welding, pipe welding, MIG and TIG required.
