Learning Resources Teacher and Community Member

Christ School seeks an enthusiastic, committed Learning Resources (LR) teacher to join our faculty in August 2026. Teachers in the Learning Resources Department are able to juggle multiple classroom tasks in addition to the diverse duties associated with life on a busy residential campus.

In five small classes (2-5 students), this Learning Resources teacher will help their charges develop the study skills that allow them to be successful in Christ School’s rigorous high school curriculum. Learning Resources teachers provide instruction to help students develop their ability to:

• Identify and understand their academic strengths and challenges.
• Set ambitious, attainable learning goals and monitor self-progress.
• Evaluate and improve study habits.
• Develop organizational skills.
• Utilize time-management techniques.
• Increase focus and class participation.
• Improve verbal and written communication skills.
• Overcome stress and anxiety related to academic performance.
• Build test-taking strategies and skills.
• Practice polite, effective self-advocacy.

In addition, the Learning Resources teacher will:

• Foster a structured, positive learning environment for all students.
• Investigate innovative teaching methods and materials for use in the classroom.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
• Cultivate an atmosphere of congeniality and partnership with content-area teachers and outside tutors.

Additional Athletic/Afternoon and Residential Life responsibilities will vary based on the candidate’s experience and interests, as well as the school’s needs. Full-time candidates should be prepared to support a combination of residential and co-curricular activities.

Teaching positions are 10-month, academic-year appointments. Approximately 70% of Christ School’s faculty members live on the scenic 500-acre campus.

• An undergraduate degree in Education or a related field; a master’s degree preferred
• Two or more years teaching upper school classes preferred
• Sincere interest in educating, encouraging, and inspiring adolescent boys
• The ability to communicate clearly and proactively with students, parents, and colleagues
