Job Description

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, develop students' awareness and understanding of the career opportunities and education requirements in computer science occupations.

Instructs and conducts classes, including Computer Science, Adobe Visual, and Adobe Digital.

Provides services to assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas. Collaborates with the school principal and staff members to assess students' needs and how best to address them. Course offerings include Culinary Arts I and II.

Minimum Training and Experience

Required to hold state certification.

Performance Responsibilities

Teaches students academic, social, and motor skills in public schools.

Prepares course objectives and outlines for the course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school.

Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual teaching aids and best practices to present subject matter to class.

Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results.

Assigns lessons, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations.

Teaches behavioral expectations.

Develops a behavioral plan and maintains order in classroom, on playground, and throughout the campus.

Counsels students when adjustment and academic problems arise.

Discusses students' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents.

Keeps attendance and grade records as required by school.

May coordinate class field trips.

May teach combined or inclusion classes.

May specialize by subject taught, such as math, science, or social studies, music, etc.

Engages in ongoing professional development.

Works cooperatively with colleagues and in the school's learning community.

Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Standards Required to Perform Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators, etc.; operate a motor vehicle; lift, carry, push, pull light objects up to 10 pounds; and walk or stand to a significant degree.

:

Ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately using office equipment.

:
Ability to handle office equipment and hand tools with adequate eye/hand coordination.

Terms of Employment

Full time for ten (10) months. Salary based on state and local salary schedules.

The term of this position is from the actual start date through the conclusion of the school year.
