Biotechnology Adjunct Instructor

PT Faculty, Biotechnology

Part-time Faculty with teaching responsibilities covering both in‑person and online courses. Target start date:
Fall 2024.

Provide effective instruction by preparing lesson plans, developing curriculum materials, recording and editing videos, and using evaluation methods to assess student performance. Support students outside class through office hours, resources, and timely communication.

Engage students with hands‑on activities, keep accurate records, meet professional development guidelines, and maintain accreditation data per college policies.

• Create and carry out lesson plans ensuring industry‑relevant content for in‑person and online courses.
• Assess student learning outcomes.
• Teach according to department lesson plans and maintain records. (Classes may include basic and advanced biotechnology or continuing education.)
• Operate equipment associated with the course curriculum and departmental procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biosciences, Life Science, or a related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework in biology, chemistry, or related disciplines.
• Minimum two years of laboratory experience in research, academic, or industry settings related to biotechnology or life sciences.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in educational or training environments.
• Computer literacy.

• Master’s degree or higher in Biotechnology or a related field.
• Supervisory experience.
• Teaching experience.
• Industry‑recognized credentials.

Position reports to the Department Head of Biotechnology and works with the curriculum program.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm, with evenings and Saturdays as needed for course offerings.
