Assistant Professor of Practice - Nurse Anesthesia - #0004775 Position Summary
This position is primarily located in the Biltmore Park instructional site in Asheville, NC. Western Carolina University seeks a Nurse Anesthetist to teach in the Nurse Anesthesia program in the School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Sciences. Anticipated start date will depend on departmental need and availability of the candidate. This is a full-time (1 FTE), 12 month, fixed-term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and teaching skills, outstanding communication skills, and ability to teach and develop online and traditional courses, participate in anesthesia simulation, advise DNP students and chair DNP projects, participate in committees, and other university activities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this PositionMinimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in nursing or related field. National certification as a CRNA required; licensure or eligibility for RN licensure/CRNA practice in NC; current CPR, PALS and ACLS certification.
- A candidate who is an experienced CRNA, enrolled in a doctoral program, and close to completion may be considered. Doctorate must be completed by the start date.
- Previous teaching experience.
