Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Danbury, North Carolina
Location: Danbury

Step into a rewarding role supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational setting near Danbury, NC. This contract opportunity for the  school year offers a flexible, part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, making it ideal for professionals seeking meaningful work with a balanced workload. As an itinerant instructor, you’ll travel between schools within the district, ensuring students across multiple grade levels receive the specialized support they deserve.

Qualifications

& Experience
  • North Carolina licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Ability to work with students ranging from kindergarten through high school
  • Experience in an itinerant or multi-school role preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with general education and special education staff
  • Flexibility to adapt instruction to diverse learning environments and student needs
  • Open to candidates seeking expanded hours; candidates licensed in special education may be considered for full-time placement
Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct and consultative services to support the development and academic achievement of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Travel between multiple school sites as assigned, providing services in various classroom and small-group settings
  • Advocate for student accessibility and inclusivity in academic and extracurricular activities
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to ongoing assessments and progress reports
