Intensive Behavior Support Classroom Teacher (Grades 3-5). Starting Date:

Upchurch Elementary, Raeford, North Carolina (Hoke County Schools).
Reports To:
Principal. Terms of Employment:
Full-Time 10 Months. Salary: NC State Salary Schedule. FSLA Exempt/Non-Exempt:
Exempt.
Qualifications:

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a Regionally Accredited College/University;
Master’s degree preferred. - Special Education certification and/or enrolled in a Residency Program working toward licensure.
- Experience with students requiring a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan.
- Knowledge of PBIS procedures and reporting.
- Knowledge of CPI Non-Violent Intervention Practices.
- Applied Behavior Analysis experience and/or RBT Certification required.
- Experience, commitment, and competence in teaching behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children in a public school setting.
- Knowledge of Policies and Procedures Governing Students with Disabilities and writing IEPs and FBAs.

- Provide instruction in a regionally-based classroom for behavior intervention and stabilization for students placed through referral due to crisis situations; collaborate with a team to assess academic and behavioral needs; provide structure, behavior management, and a safe environment; teach replacement behaviors.
- Develops and implements plans to address academic and behavioral needs; make recommendations to the home school regarding modifications, strategies, resources, and supports.
- Serve as a school-wide resource for behavior support strategies; participate in ongoing training; collaborate with the Principal and Behavior Support Coordinator.
- Focus on teaching appropriate replacement behaviors including social skills and anger management.
- Collect data on progress toward goals; monitor and assess behavior plans; modify as necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, families, school personnel, and community resources.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide specially designed instruction.
- Modify instruction to meet academic goals for assigned students; complete IEP paperwork and Behavior Intervention Plans by due dates.
- Attend school-based PLC and staff meetings; provide consultations on behavior strategies and school-wide supports.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and district regulations and policies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of classroom management principles and NC Standard Course of Study; adapt instruction for students with special needs.
- Maintain safety and well-being of students; know emergency procedures; maintain records; meet timelines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships; perform other related duties as required.
The role involves typical classroom activity, including walking, sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally; various vision requirements; and exposure to typical school environmental conditions.
