Job Description
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide effective teaching strategies.
  • Maintain classroom management and address learning and behavior issues.
  • Use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Evaluate student achievements using multiple assessment methods and provide progress reports.
  • Communicate promptly with parents and maintain constructive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
  • Protect students, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
  • Uphold and enforce board policy, district goals, administrative procedures, and school regulations.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, PLCs, and department meetings as required.
  • Respect confidentiality of student records in accordance with professional ethics and law.
  • Share responsibility for student supervision during the school day.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an approved education program in the subject area (notes apply for vocational or technical areas).
  • Strong background in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Require speaking, hearing, manual handling, and repetitive motions; mostly sitting; occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication at normal spoken word levels.
  • Preparation and analysis of written or computer data; operation of machines and equipment; occasional outdoor exposure.
  • Moderately noisy environment (e.g., office or light traffic).
Job Requirements
