• Reports to the Principal and takes daily attendance.
• Assigns grades via Infinite Campus according to school guidelines.
• Familiarizes with the middle school Responsive Advisory Meeting book and applies Responsive Classroom practices.
• Teaches students to build relationships and demonstrate positive behavior and language toward peers, staff, and community through Responsive Classroom practices and a daily Morning Meeting.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules for student conduct and develops reasonable classroom behavior guidelines.
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of the ACS curriculum and actively engages in training, asks questions, and implements instructional plans effectively.
• Meets at least twice monthly with the Curriculum Director and MTSS Coordinator to review data and curriculum.
• Teaches assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Plans a program of study aligned with the curriculum and tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Prepares lessons, shows written evidence of preparation meeting ACS lesson plan nonnegotiables.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives, and communicates them to students.
• Uses a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with classroom resources and student needs.
• Integrates Project‑Based Learning and supports grade‑level projects.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly.
• Seeks assistance from EC teachers and facilitator as required.
• Maintains accurate records required by law and school regulation.
• Puts all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains a clean, organized classroom that supports student learning.
• Implements daily routines that foster student responsibility for classroom cleanliness.
• Is available to students and parents outside instructional hours as required or requested under reasonable terms.
• Plans and supervises assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends meetings, school events, and serves on staff committees as required.
• Complies with Digital Daily Check‑in and Check‑out System.
• Reads and understands the Employee Handbook, Parent‑Student Handbook, and follows the ACS Employee Code of Ethics & General Standards of Conduct.

• Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or related field.
• NC Certification/Teaching License or ability to obtain one.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
