Education:
General Curriculum (88091) or Cross Categorical (88001). This position will remain posted until filled.

Supersedes:
May coordinate and direct the activities of teacher assistants.
Purpose:
To plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.
- Management of Instructional Time:
The teacher has materials, supplies, and equipment ready before the lesson, starts class quickly, and maintains high student time‑on‑task. - Management of Student Behavior:
The teacher has established rules, monitors behavior, stops inappropriate behavior promptly, and maintains student dignity. - Instructional Presentation:
The teacher reviews previous material, introduces objectives, presents content clearly, conducts lessons briskly, manages transitions, and summarizes main points. - Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance:
Maintains standards, circulates to check performance, uses oral and written checks, poses questions clearly. - Instructional Feedback:
Provides feedback on correctness, encourages growth, gives prompt graded feedback, probes or repeats for incorrect responses. - Facilitating Instruction:
Has an instructional plan aligned with curricular goals, uses assessment data, keeps accurate records, uses resources for program support. - Interacting Within the Educational Environment:
Treats students fairly, interacts with students, coworkers, parents, and community. - Performing Non‑Instructional Duties:
Carries out non‑instructional duties, follows laws and policies, demonstrates professional growth. - Additional

Degree in education or related area qualifying for licensure by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
