The Visiting Assistant Professor, Sociology, is a nine‑month, fixed‑term appointment beginning August 2026 at Western Carolina University’s main campus in Cullowhee, NC. The position includes a 3‑4 course load within the undergraduate sociology program, with emphasis on health sociology, global and transnational sociology, organizational and industrial sociology, or related areas.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach undergraduate sociology courses as assigned.
- Assist in curriculum development and assessment.
- Maintain a professional scholarly profile and communicate progress to department leadership.
- Participate in departmental meetings and serve on committees as needed.
- Master’s degree in Sociology or ABD status in Sociology by 8/1/2026.
- Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline.
