Position Information

Position Overview

The Extension EFNEP Educator is an employee of NC Cooperative Extension, NC State University. Under the supervision of the County Extension Director with guided assistance from the District EFNEP Regional Nutrition Extension Associate ( RNEA ), the EFNEP Educator delivers nutrition and related subject matter to enrolled participants.

The 4-H program assistant will assist the 4‑H Agent in the planning, executing, and evaluating effective and comprehensive 4‑H programs that will meet the needs of the county population. The program assistant will support the mission of the 4‑H organization, which is to develop youth and adults working with those youth to realize their full potential through participation in research-based, non‑formal, hands‑on educational experiences.

The 4‑H program assistant cooperates with the Macon County Extension staff and county leaders in performing a variety of responsibilities. The performance of assigned responsibilities is governed by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of North Carolina Cooperative Extension.

The individual in this position will provide assistance for the total 4‑H program and will help determine programming needs, planning, marketing, implementing and evaluating youth programs. This position will also be involved in assisting 4‑H volunteers, supporting 4‑H clubs, and providing opportunities for school based 4‑H programs.

* The EFNEP /4‑H Program Assistant will be responsible for two program areas with 50% of the time and work dedicated to 4‑H youth programs and 50% of the time and work dedicated to Expanded Food and Nutrition programs in Macon County schools. *
