Job Description
Provides classroom instruction to students through lectures, demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing according to established meeting patterns.
Assess Electrical student learning outcomes and demonstrate the use of the results to make improvements to course/program.
Provides feedback to students regarding course progression in Voltage Identification, Calculations, and Digital, Voltage, Ohms meters (DVOMs) and Safety procedures
Records and maintain suitable class records which show student membership hours, attendance and grades in accordance with deadlines.
Utilizing technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.
Prepare students for career opportunities in construction and industry settings.
Inform the Dean of workforce and the VP of any student issues (academic, attendance, behavior, cheating, and plagiarism) as soon as possible.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma with current North Carolina Electrical License.
- 3 years of relevant industry experience in the Electrical/Construction industry
- Teaching and/or industry training experience in Electrical topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
- Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
- OSHA Certifications
- More than 3 years of relevant industry experience in the construction industry
- Postsecondary teaching experience
- Experience with commercial construction processes
- Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
- Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
