Job Summary

Oversee the grant, licensure, and regulatory compliance of the day-to-day operations of the after-school and summer school programs for Polk County Schools. Responsibilities include hiring and training program personnel, coordinating materials and resources, managing student registration, developing and overseeing programming, and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.

Essential Functions

Plan, coordinate, and oversee an enriching, safe, and structured after-school program.

Publicize the program and communicate program information to families to increase awareness and encourage student enrollment.

Plan and implement programming in accordance with applicable North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) guidelines and requirements for after-school and summer programs.

Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies, organizations, and volunteers to facilitate cooperative agreements and provide enriching educational and recreational activities for program participants.

Oversee the development and implementation of daily activities, schedules, and staff responsibilities at each after-school program site.

Monitor and maintain compliance with all 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant requirements, including programmatic, operational, and reporting requirements.

Collaborate with the Fiscal Director and grant management personnel to develop, monitor, and manage the after-school program budget and ensure appropriate use of grant funds.

Plan, coordinate, and provide staff development and training opportunities to support the professional growth and effectiveness of after-school program personnel.

Complete and submit all required reports and documentation to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and applicable grant providers in accordance with established deadlines.

Attend and participate in all required meetings, trainings, conferences, and other activities sponsored by the grant provider or other applicable agencies.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee a summer school program for qualifying students in accordance with program and grant requirements.

Communicate regularly and effectively with families of students enrolled in the after-school program and respond to questions, concerns, and needs as appropriate.

Monitor program operations and outcomes to ensure that program activities support established goals, student needs, and grant requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functions

Education, Experience and Skills Required

High school diploma required, college degree preferred.

Certification in Child/Adult CPR and First Aid.

Knowledge of and experience with child care procedures, regulations and

activities.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel and goals established by the Superintendent.

Environmental Factors

Normal office environment. May include close contact with students in the school setting.
