Counseling Adjuncts 2026-2027

Position Overview

The Department of Counseling has a need for part-time or adjunct faculty to teach courses in core and specialty areas for Professional School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

These positions are especially suited for candidates who possess a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and independent licensure in the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and/or Licensed School Counselor.

• Teach core and specialty area courses for Professional School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
• Structure and implement distance-education based courses and blended learning hybrid courses.
• Complete a comprehensive employment background check.

• Ph.D. in Counselor Education or a related degree with a clear counselor professional identity.
• Prefer CACREP accredited degrees; or independent supervisory counseling experience and education in counseling supervision.
• Experience teaching practicum and internship field placement courses if holding a master’s degree in counseling.
• Proficiency in distance-education and blended learning.
