Position Overview

Western Carolina University seeks qualified part‑time (adjunct) faculty to enhance its academic programs. Appointments are course‑by‑course, salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline, and postings are continuous to build a qualified pool of candidates. If your academic area of expertise aligns with the university’s needs at any time, you will be contacted to discuss teaching opportunities. The programmatic needs change from semester to semester.

• Doctor’s or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

Preferred: A terminal degree.

This role involves teaching courses on a course‑by‑course basis in the candidate’s discipline.
