Min T/E Requirements

Candidates must possess a master’s degree, PhD or EdD from an accredited institution. Primary Purpose of Organization Unit

The Center for Student Success advances the University’s mission by providing comprehensive academic advising, academic support services, transition programming, and student success initiatives designed to promote student persistence, academic achievement, retention, and degree completion for all learners.

The Center serves undergraduate and graduate students, traditional and non-traditional students, full-time and part-time students, transfer students, readmitted students, and students identified as academically at-risk. The unit coordinates integrated advising and transition support for first- and second-year students, transfer students, and readmitted students, while also providing targeted interventions and holistic support services that enhance student learning and success.

The Center for Student Success houses academic advising, tutoring and Supplemental Instruction programs, academic engagement initiatives, and federally funded TRIO programs, including a STEM
-focused TRIO grant. Through peer and professional tutoring, mentoring, academic support programming, and collaborative partnerships across the institution, the Center promotes equitable student outcomes and a culture of student success grounded in data-informed practice and continuous improvement.

The Center also serves as a strategic partner within Academic Affairs by supporting the collection, analysis, interpretation, and communication of student success data and metrics that inform institutional planning, assessment, retention initiatives, accreditation efforts, and student success strategies across the University.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success serves as the senior academic affairs leader responsible for institutional student success strategy, assessment, academic support services, and coordinated student success initiatives. Reporting to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice Chancellor provides vision, leadership, and direction for university-wide efforts to improve retention, persistence, academic achievement, and degree completion for all learners.

The Associate Vice Chancellor leads institutional efforts related to the development, tracking, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of student success data and metrics across the Center for Student Success, the Division of Academic Affairs, and the broader institution. The position uses institutional, divisional, and unit-level data to inform strategic planning, support policy development, assess program effectiveness, identify barriers to student achievement, and advance continuous improvement initiatives related to student success outcomes.
