Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Educational Partnerships, the CCP Advisor provides comprehensive academic advising, enrollment support, and student success services to high school students participating in Career and College Promise (CCP) dual enrollment programs.
The CCP Advisor serves as a key liaison between Rockingham Community College, partner high schools, students, and parents to promote enrollment, ensure academic success, and support career pathway planning aligned with college transfer and workforce goals.
This position also delivers outreach and education to high school counselors, career development coordinators, teachers, students, and parents regarding CCP opportunities and post-secondary pathways, while ensuring adherence to North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) CCP Operating Procedures.
Location and Work Environment
The CCP Advisor will be based on the RCC campus with the expectation of regular, ongoing presence in county high schools. The supervisor or Vice President for Academic Affairs reserves the right to adjust location and scheduling to meet institutional needs.
Advising and Registration
* Advise prospective and current CCP students on eligibility, academic planning, and appropriate course selection aligned with high school graduation, college transfer, and workforce pathways.
* Provide academic advising and registration services for dual enrollment students.
* Facilitate CCP orientation activities prior to enrollment.
* Assist students with Rockingham Community College admissions and enrollment processes, including Residency Determination, application submission, and FAFSA awareness.
* Maintain accurate student records to support reporting requirements and program evaluation.
* Monitor student progress and provide proactive intervention to support persistence and completion.
Student Support Services
* Serve as an active member of Key Leaders teams and advisory groups supporting secondary and postsecondary partnerships.
* Provide instruction, coaching, and intervention to support student success in high school and college courses.
* Communicate policies, procedures, and expectations clearly to students and parents.
* Conduct classroom visits, workshops, and information sessions to educate students on CCP pathways and requirements.
* Assist CCP students with transition planning into full-time college enrollment or career opportunities.
Outreach and Partnership Engagement
* Educate high school counselors, career development coordinators, teachers, students, and parents about CCP opportunities and postsecondary pathways.
* Collaborate with Enrollment Services and Rockingham County Schools to meet CCP enrollment and retention goals.
* Participate in school and community-based outreach activities, events, and presentations to promote CCP programs.
* Support the development and dissemination of CCP pathway materials and marketing resources for students and families.
* Conduct advising sessions with CCP seniors to promote continued enrollment at RCC.
Program Development and Institutional Support
* Communicate program improvement opportunities and emerging needs based on secondary school feedback.
* Participate in strategic planning, program evaluation, and institutional initiatives.
* Identify and recommend workshops, seminars, and services to enhance CCP student success.
* Maintain compliance with NCCCS regulations, institutional policies, and reporting requirements.
* Maintain enrollment, tracking, and grant-related records as required.
* Participate in team meetings, committees, and professional development activities.
College and Community Engagement
* Represent the College professionally in all interactions with students, families, and external stakeholders.
* Promote Rockingham Community College locally, regionally, and statewide.
* Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, school system partners, and community stakeholders.
* Support activities that enhance the College's image and mission.
Institutional Responsibilities
* Work a minimum of a 38-hour workweek in accordance with College policy.
* Attend required meetings, training sessions, and college events.
* Participate in commencement and other college functions that support student success and institutional engagement.
* Serve on institutional committees and, when approved, local, regional, or statewide initiatives.
Public Relations Responsibilities
* Present to both small and large groups on CCP and college opportunities.
* Demonstrate professionalism that reflects positively on the College.
* Maintain strong internal and external relationships across stakeholders.
Professional Development
* Participate in NCCCS and institutional professional development opportunities.
* Maintain current knowledge of:
North Carolina high school systems
Community college and university pathways
Workforce and career development resources
NCCCS CCP policies and procedures
