Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences - Anatomy & Physiology

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences with a focus on anatomy and physiology. This renewable, one-year appointment is based at the main campus in Buies Creek, North Carolina, and carries a preliminary allocation of effort of 60% teaching, 30% research/scholarship, and 10% service.

The successful candidate will teach across the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Research programs, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and implementing evidence-based instructional methods. Additional responsibilities include mentoring and advising students, guiding graduate research projects, sustaining an active scholarly agenda, and serving on departmental, college, and university committees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach and develop course materials in anatomy and physiology and related areas for professional (PharmD), graduate (MS), and undergraduate (BS) programs, incorporating innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Assess student performance through exams, assignments, quizzes, laboratory reports, and presentations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Mentor and advise graduate and professional students, guiding them in academic progress, research projects, and career development.
• Establish and maintain an independent, innovative research program in the pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences, with the goal of securing external funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration by working with faculty across departments, colleges, and external institutions to advance research and education in health sciences.
• Promote interprofessional education and outreach by participating in activities that enhance the understanding and impact of the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences in healthcare and the scientific community.
• Engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels, contributing to committees, curriculum development, and student organizations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; FERPA and other state and federal mandates.
• Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities in teaching, research, and service.

Education/

Experience:

• A PhD, MD, or DO degree
• Experience in teaching and mentoring.
• Demonstrated track record of independent research.
• 2-5 years of experience in higher education is strongly desired.
