Staff Development Specialist I (S)
Position Number:
Grade: NC12
At O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center, the Staff Development Specialist I facilitates and administers educational programs for both direct care and operational staff. The role assesses departmental learning needs, plans targeted curriculum, and conducts instructor‑led training to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
Responsibilities- Identify organizational knowledge gaps and determine training objectives.
- Assist in designing training materials, manuals, and instructional procedures.
- Deliver in‑person, on‑the‑job, and specialized training.
- Manage administrative duties within the Learning Management System (LMS), including documenting training, maintaining records, and evaluating progress to ensure full state compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in a progressive training or teaching role, or one year of experience in human services, counseling, or a related training program in the specified subject matter; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Considerable knowledge of training theory, principles, and techniques, including ability to adapt and communicate information to a wide range of audiences and situations.
- Knowledge of audiovisual aids and other training tools and resources.
- Ability to develop course outlines and lesson plans.
- Demonstrated skill in assessing, planning, executing, evaluating, and adapting training to meet organizational needs.
Grade NC12 – $47,703 to $83,479
Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
