Assistant to the Dean
The successful candidate will serve as the Assistant to the Dean of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. This position requires the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and to be able to maintain and complete multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor are key components to the success of this role. A self-starter with strong organizational, supervisory, and mentoring skills, customer service, attention to detail and a keen willingness to learn is needed.
The individual will perform administrative support services for the Dean, faculty, and staff by interfacing with Campbell Accounting, Campbell HR, and other Campbell administrative entities.
- Receive and screen phone calls, schedule and screen appointments for the Dean.
- Assist students with various requests for the Dean and in other areas of the University.
- Prepare the calendar of events (academic, meetings, etc.) for the School.
- Reserve rooms and make food arrangements for various meetings.
- Take minutes at staff and faculty meetings.
- Plan/coordinate meetings, celebrations, and other events.
- Help prepare Dean's monthly and annual reports including the Lundy Chair report.
- Help monitor and manage budgets: review expenditures, transfer funds.
- Review travel requests for faculty, staff, and students.
- Reconcile reimbursement requests and University credit cards.
- Work with Procurement, Business, and Legal on various purchasing, vendor, and contract matters.
- Help oversee, train, and mentor student workers.
- Prepare payroll for full-time faculty overload, adjunct instructors, and independent studies.
- Maintain personnel folders, including faculty credentials, necessary for accreditation.
- Assist with human resources forms and procedures.
- Assist with academic assessment processes and accreditation reporting.
- Secure standardized testing materials (such as Major Field Achievement Tests) for departments in the School.
- Assist with internal communication to LFSB faculty, staff, and students.
- Assist with LFSB marketing activities, including social media and website updates/maintenance.
- Other duties appropriate to the position as assigned by the Dean.

- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor and hold strict confidences at all times.

Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least three years' experience in administrative work; preferably in an academic environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet required.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment and its usage required.
- Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector preferred.
- Experience with social media, marketing, and communication preferred.
- Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to;
Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
