Location

Months Employed - 10 month position, evaluated annually

- Classified, work under the direction of the supervising teachers.

Nature of Work
- The purpose of this position is to provide instructional and behavioral support and assistance to students served in the general education classroom through the direction and guidance of the certified classroom teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- • Provide academic support and intervention to students in small group setting.
• Assist with implementing instructional strategies and materials as directed.
• Monitor student movement in instructional settings such as hallways, cafeterias, bus loading zones, etc.
• Provide feedback to supervising teachers regarding student work and behaviors.
• Collaborate with supervising teachers daily to address any instructional strategies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- • Ability to communicate clearly in written and electronic formats; as well as; in-person.
• Ability to use a computer or other electronic devices for the purpose of communication, instruction, data recording, and location of information.
• Ability to collaborate with district staff to identify and solve problems.
• Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with students and/or parents and their personal and educational needs.
• Skill in identifying student learning and personal needs and collaborating with supervising teachers to provide needed resources or interventions.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of an Associates degree or 48 hours of college transferrable hours.
Salary - NC Classified Employee Salary Scale
