Global Education Assistant (Federal Work Study)
The Global Education Assistant will provide clerical and technical assistance to the Global Education program. This position works under the direction of the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
Assisting with a review of all classes within programs to determine which classes are on considered inherently global (a list will be provided to check against) Look at UNC World View's website that contains all the globalized course modules to note which ones match the courses in the programs that were not marked in the first review as being global. Scan event, university, and museum websites to create a list of local global-focused events that students could participate in, either online or in person, to gain their global activity credit for the Global Scholars program.
Assist with "Passport Events" on campus by organizing supplies, helping to prepare activity materials, decorating, setting up events, and taking down events, as the workers class schedule allows. Help the Dean to set up information sessions, hand out flyers, and create email list of participants who signed in, so that they may be contacted at a later time. Preferred, but not required, the ability to create and/or post flyers.
Assist with providing information about global education events, including study abroad at campus events, as class schedule allows.
Detail oriented. Able to manage time effectively. Self-motivated. Ability to scan websites and create lists using either Microsoft Word or Excel spreadsheets.
