Library Media Assistant

Currituck County High School is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Library Media Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the educational and informational needs of our students and staff through effective library and media services.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily operations of the school library, including checking in and out books, shelving materials, and maintaining an organized library environment.
• Provide support to students and staff in locating and using library resources and technology.
• Help develop and implement library programs and activities that promote reading and information literacy.
• Support the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of new library materials.
• Maintain and update library databases and records.
• Assist with managing and troubleshooting library technology, including computers and audiovisual equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
• Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the library.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in a library setting or similar environment is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using library management systems and various technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and the community.
• Enthusiasm for fostering a love of reading and learning.
