Job Description

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred with experience working with children in an educational setting and/or experience in supervision, monitoring, and maintaining school related records, procedures, and policies.

Specific Training: Appropriate Teacher’s License preferred and /or degree/ experience related to procedures

and operations within an educational setting and strong people and organizational skills.

Experience: A certified teacher in the participating school preferred

Pay Rate: The 21 st CCLC Site Director is an “at will” employee. CCS and NCDPI 21st CCLC Program Supervisors monitor and approve the pay rate for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be thoroughly familiar with the approved grant goals, guidelines, and policies within the RFP including, but not limited to, the NCSCOS curriculum support, work hour expectations, 21 st CCLC staff responsibilities, and student /parent confidentiality. The 21 st CCLC NC DPI guidelines are provided for review.

    21st CCLC Standard Operating Procedures
    . Each site director is responsible in reading, informing, and ensuring the content of 21st CCLC NCDPI grant guidelines, policies, and procedures are shared with all the 21st CCLC staff at their site and are to be utilized for program efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally site directors will abide by the policies and laws as outlined in Cherokee County Schools Employee Handbook and the 21 st CCLC Staff Handbook .
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the day-to-day operation of the 21 st Century Community Learning Center Programs at individual project sites. Maintain/ Document all required records, program and student data, and program materials.
  • Recruit qualified staff and supervise individual site staff to ensure program goals and objectives are met.

    Note:

    Non-certified staff that are full time employees of Cherokee County Schools may work no more than 10 hours per week without prior approval of the Program Director.
  • Manage the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Track program participation levels and evaluation measures as outlined in the goals and objectives of the  Cohort 17 21 st CCLC Awarded Grant.
  • Responsible for assuring high-quality program services and activities as aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study Curriculum Standards and Program goals and objectives.
  • Plan and initiate academic enrichment activities aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study Curriculum Standards as identified in the grant, which include math and literacy activities.
    This includes, but not limited to, teaching duties during the after‑school hours.
  • Plan and initiate both remote and in person teaching and learning strategies to support enrichment activities identified in the grant which may include Arts Education, STEAM activities, Drug and Violence Prevention, Family Engagement Activities, Healthful Living and Physical Fitness Activities and Character Education.
  • Facilitate and conduct 21 st CCLC Program evaluation requirements with 21 st CCLC staff and regular school‑day teachers, including the dissemination and collection of teacher surveys.
