Position: Faculty - Engineering Technology (Adjunct)

Position Summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking part-time Engineering Technology instructors. A part-time, or adjunct, faculty member is employed to provide direct instruction in either a classroom, lab, clinical, or distance education setting on a semester contract basis. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students. Adjunct instructors are provided a contract for a single term only. Each contract ends at the end of the term, and a new contract will be provided if the adjunct faculty is hired for another term.

An adjunct faculty member is under the management of the Program/Division Chair and supervised by the Academic Dean.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content in order to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
  • Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
  • Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.
  • Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes but is not limited to the College’s learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.
  • Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
  • When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
  • Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.
