The Coordinator of Career & Community Engagement is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating educational and workforce training opportunities that respond to the needs of students, community members, businesses, nonprofits, and community partners. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between James Sprunt Community College and the community to identify needs, strengthen partnerships, and develop programs and courses, including bilingual programs, that expand access to College resources and opportunities.

The Coordinator supports the daily operations and initiatives of the Center for Career & Community Engagement and collaborates with College departments, faculty, staff, businesses, and community organizations to advance the College's mission and strategic goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Career & Community Engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between James Sprunt Community College and the community, with particular emphasis on developing strong relationships with Latino/Hispanic and other underserved populations.
• Develop, strengthen, and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, industries, schools, nonprofits, and other stakeholders.
• Identify educational, career, and workforce training needs within the community and recommend new courses, programs, and services based on identified needs and community requests.
• Develop and coordinate new bilingual and community-responsive course offerings from initial concept through implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate and support the implementation of programs and courses offered through the Center for Career & Community Engagement.
• Provide bilingual (Spanish/English) assistance to prospective and current students throughout the enrollment and registration process.
• Assist students with program selection, registration, scholarships, and referrals to appropriate College and community resources.
• Assist with recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts for Continuing Education & Workforce Development programs.
• Collaborate with the College Recruiter and Marketing Department to develop and implement bilingual marketing and outreach strategies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining bilingual content for the Center's social media platforms, website, promotional materials, and other communication channels.
• Support the daily operations of the Center for Career & Community Engagement, including outreach, student assistance, program coordination, and community engagement activities.
• Assist with overseeing the Center's daily operations in the absence of the Director.
• Recruit, coordinate, and support adjunct instructors as needed.
• Assist with supervising and evaluating adjunct instructors as assigned.
• Coordinate course and instructor schedules.
• Schedule and coordinate occupational extension and personal enrichment courses.
• Coordinate registration processes, collect payments, and ensure required paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate student records, course documentation, syllabi, outreach records, and departmental files.
• Coordinate the evaluation of course and program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
• Work with the CE Registrar to ensure required paperwork is completed and submitted.
• Assist with grant-funded initiatives and provide information and support for external funding proposals and grants.
• Assist with managing program and instructional needs within the approved budget.
• Recommend budget, equipment, technology, and resource needs.
• Communicate and coordinate activities with other areas of the College.
