Position

Purpose:

The Energy Solutions Specialist will be a key part of a growing initiative that delivers value to the Cooperative membership through programs and services aligned with our Brighter Future roadmap. This position will provide thorough service to residential and commercial members relating to energy efficiency and conservation programs.

Essential Functions:
  • Elevate member experience with education and assistance regarding energy usage and energy efficiency.
  • Day to day administration for Connect to Save, the distributed energy resource (DER) (solar, non‑solar distributed generation, electric vehicles, battery storage, demand response, and energy efficiency) program.
  • Support Connect to Save operations with Tier I support and troubleshooting.
  • Provide members with education on renewables, battery storage, electric vehicles, rate options, and distributed energy resources.
  • Administer Energy Solutions rate enrollments, account maintenance, and required recurring program processes.
  • Assist members with interconnection process for DERs.
  • Assist with scheduling and logistics for Energy Solutions initiatives, programs & services ensuring effective collaboration with staff, members, contractors, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist in the creation and utilization of data and data reporting for member support.
  • Maintain records of DERs and conversions following name changes.
  • Detect and report high usage from MDM data.
  • Member support and outreach on high usage, program enrollment and adoption, on‑bill financing, distributed energy resources including net metering, and other BEMC offerings.
  • Administer the Energy Efficiency Loan program.
  • Perform a variety of special projects and miscellaneous duties in alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Assist the Energy Solutions Supervisor with design and implementation of new programs and offerings.
  • Participate in outside community opportunities, such as: home shows, fairs, business expos, various public educational venues, etc.
  • Requirements:
  • High School diploma plus 2 years' experience in the electric utility industry.
  • Strong communication & customer service skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Preferred:
  • Associates degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with reporting software (Power BI, Crystal Reports, Tableau etc.)
