Boiler Operator
Operators work 12-hour shifts while monitoring the efficiency and safety of the boiler component parts, with the help of computers. The boiler has to be in compliance with the air permit. Repair jobs and maintenance checks may require operators to work under very hot, cold, noisy, and dirty conditions, while climbing or working from heights. Operators have to be able to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
They are required to routinely check systems, perform preventative maintenance, lubricate parts, and troubleshoot malfunctioning boilers. Be able to safely operate a forklift.
The boiler is a source of energy for the processing plant heating water and creating pressurized steam. Candidate must be in good physical condition due to climbing and working at various heights, be able to work as scheduled, have ability to lift 50 pounds.
