Civil Engineer

Overview

This full-time in-person position is with Gateway Engineers, a civil engineering consulting firm with locations in Pittsburgh, PA;
Butler, PA; and Selma, NC. The company supports its employees through knowledge, experience, and responsiveness, guided by 85+ registered professionals.

• Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
• Perform engineering calculations and design using specialized technical skills and judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications for public and private projects.
• Assist in the preparation and quality control of plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for projects.
• Provide project-specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications.
• Perform plan drafting using CADD software.
• Visit project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
• Maintain and comply with state, federal, and local rules and codes.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Represent the Company at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.

• Construction observation and inspection
• Construction document design and preparation
• Basic software use – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
• AutoCAD (Civil 3D)

• Communicate proactively with clients, project team members, and contractors
• Self-motivated
• Ability to learn and teach

• Four-year engineering degree
• PE preferable
