Position: Sr. Electronic Technician
Location: Murphy, NC (which is a smaller mountain town in North West NC)
Relocation assistance: available and will likely be needed as almost all of my placements here are relocations.
Position OverviewThe Senior Electronics Technician supports Manufacturing and Engineering by leading complex testing, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of power-conversion products. This is a senior hands‑on role requiring advanced electronics knowledge, strong technical judgment, and the ability to mentor and guide junior Technicians.
You’ll have meaningful ownership of test workflows, equipment readiness, and technical problem‑solving that supports high‑reliability product delivery.
What You’ll Do- Perform bench testing, acceptance testing, and verification on advanced power electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair board‑level and system‑level electronic assemblies using expert diagnostic techniques.
- Develop and update test procedures, work instructions, and documentation aligned with ISO
9001, AS9100, and IPC requirements. - Build, maintain, and improve test fixtures, jigs, and setups to support reliability and throughput.
- Ensure proper calibration, readiness, and safe use of all test equipment.
- Accurately document test results, corrective actions, and repair activities.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior Technicians, elevating team skill level and capability.
- Partner with Engineering & Manufacturing on root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement, and product feedback.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and quality‑focused work environment.
- AA/AS degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced understanding of electronic components, circuitry, and schematic interpretation.
- Proficiency with lab and bench equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.).
- Demonstrated success troubleshooting and repairing complex electronics at the component and system level.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and structured quality environments.
- 4-year technical degree or 5+ years of experience in power electronics testing and repair.
- Experience working in high‑reliability sectors (defense, aerospace, industrial, medical, etc.).
- Background in ISO
9001/AS9100 quality systems or test‑fixture development.
