We are looking to recruit a motivated Apprentice Civil Operative to join our growing civils team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification in Construction & Civil Engineering Operations.
You will work alongside experienced operatives on a variety of civil engineering projects, learning the skills required for a long‑term career in the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with groundworks, drainage, kerbing and concreting works
- Use hand tools, power tools and small plant safely
- Prepare sites, materials and work areas
- Follow drawings, specifications and instructions
- Work safely at all times, complying with health & safety requirements
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment
- Attend college/training sessions as part of your apprenticeship
- Earn while you learn with a structured apprenticeship programme
- On‑the‑job training with support from experienced mentors
Regular progress meetings with the HR team - Day release college training
- PPE, tools and training provided
- Opportunities for progression and permanent employment on completion

Requirements- A genuine interest in groundworks and civil engineering
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Basic maths and English skills
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme
- No previous experience is required as full training will be provided
