We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in industrial automation, OT systems, and multi‑vendor manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience supporting automated assembly and packaging lines and be comfortable working across PLCs, SCADA, MES, networking, and data systems within a regulated industrial setting. This role will be on-site in Clayton, NC Monday-Friday 8-5 PM ET.
Responsibilities of the Automation Engineer:
* Provide automation support services for the deployment, operation, and optimization of automated processes and equipment within Finished Products (FP) buildings.
* Support FP process areas and equipment, including FxT and SDD assembly and packaging lines.
* Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize industrial automation systems to ensure reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.
* Support and integrate PLC, SCADA, MES, and serialization systems across multiple vendors and platforms.
* Partner closely with engineering, IT, and vendors to integrate automation systems with enterprise IT infrastructure, including Active Directory.
* Provide support for industrial networking and cybersecurity initiatives within OT environments.
* Manage and analyze data generated by OT systems, including historian and data collection platforms.
* Support vision systems, serialization, and track‑and‑trace technologies.
* Act as a technical SME for automation systems during troubleshooting, upgrades, and process changes.
* Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

* PLC Platforms:
Schneider, B&R, Allen‑Bradley Control Logix, Siemens
* SCADA & Data:
Factory Talk, SQL Server, Aveva PI
* MES & Serialization: PAS‑X, Uhlmann Track and Trace
* Vision Systems:
Cognex, Keyence, Vision Automation
* Other Systems:
Thin Manager, Octoplant
Qualifications of the Automation Support Engineer:
* Strong experience in industrial automation, control systems, and OT environments.
* Thorough knowledge of electrical and construction‑related automation systems.
* Proficiency with PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA systems, and process control principles.
* Experience integrating automation systems with IT infrastructure and enterprise networks.
* Knowledge of OT cybersecurity concepts, including risk management and data protection.
* Experience managing and working with large volumes of industrial data.
* Familiarity with multi‑vendor manufacturing and packaging lines.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation for the Automation Engineer:
* Rate: $80-$89/hr
