Job OverviewThe Industrial Engineering Technician II supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate process documentation, managing ERP data integrity, conducting time studies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a critical link between engineering, operations, and supply chain functions, ensuring that production processes are documented, optimized, and executed efficiently.
Job RequirementsProcess Documentation & Work Instructions
- Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of Work Instructions (WIs) to reflect current manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly sequences
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and production supervisors to ensure Work Instructions are accurate, clear, and aligned with quality standards
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing documentation to identify outdated or non-conforming content and initiate appropriate updates through the document control process
SAP ERP Administration
- Administer and maintain SAP Routers (Routings) to accurately reflect operational sequences, work centers, and standard times
- Support updates to Bills of Materials (BOMs) including component assignments, quantities, and engineering change in corporations
- Process SAP change requests in a timely manner, coordinating with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality
- Investigate and resolve routing or BOM discrepancies identified during production or MRP planning cycles
- Perform SAP master data audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards
Time Studies & Labor Standards
- Plan and conduct time studies on the manufacturing floor using recognized industrial engineering methods (e.g., stopwatch time study, predetermined motion time systems)
- Analyze collected data to establish or validate standard labor times, supporting SAP routing updates and capacity planning
- Document time study methodologies, observations, and findings in structured reports
- Assist in identifying process inefficiencies or non-value-added activities observed during time study activities
Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and waste elimination projects
- Assist Industrial Engineers with data collection, analysis, and implementation tracking for CI projects
- Participate in cross-functional improvement teams, contributing technical knowledge of processes and operations
- Help monitor and sustain implemented improvements, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) over time
- Associate's degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering support role
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP modules, particularly Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM)
- Familiarity with Work Instruction authoring and document control processes
- Experience performing time studies and developing labor standards
- Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and tools

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $47,200- $70,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
