We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Professional to join our dynamic team. This role offers a significant opportunity for a skilled professional to apply and further refine their expertise across a diverse portfolio of environmental, civil, geotechnical, geo-structural, and construction materials testing projects. Our Regional Geotechnical group focuses on serving projects for our solid waste, mining, and power industry clients. These projects span a multitude of geotechnical support roles, from geotechnical exploration in support of Phase 1 Development and infrastructure/support structure design to geotechnical support during site operation and closure, as well as geologic hazard mitigation (structural improvements, ground improvements, and slope stabilization).
MinimumJob Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field of study from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 1-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields.
- Possession of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification, with a clear path toward obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) or ASBOG Professional Geologist (PG) licensure.
- Required to travel regularly to local and regional project sites (typically within South Carolina and surrounding states) and perform extensive fieldwork under varying environmental conditions, including adverse weather, uneven terrain, and potentially hazardous environments, while adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Apply and further develop advanced technical skills in areas such as comprehensive field investigations (e.g., subsurface explorations, sampling protocols), sophisticated data analysis, technical report generation, and interpretation of complex engineering specifications. Continue to build on hands‑on experience across environmental, civil, geotechnical, geo-structural, and construction materials testing projects.
- Performance Analytics: Contribute to robust data collection and analytical processes to inform project optimization and identify efficiency gains. Further develop understanding and application of key performance indicators to enhance project delivery and outcomes.
- Proactively engage with clients to understand evolving project scopes, effectively communicate technical findings, and manage expectations. Continuously cultivate strong professional relationships, acting as a reliable and knowledgeable representative of the firm.
- Champion the firm's rigorous quality standards by meticulously reviewing project data, ensuring strict adherence to established protocols, and implementing comprehensive quality checks on all project deliverables. Play a critical role in maintaining accuracy and precision across all project phases.
