Job Overview
We provide turn‑key material handling systems that serve a variety of industries including Distribution, Automotive, Manufacturing and Food & Beverage. Our solutions include conveyor systems, sortation equipment, print & apply label applicators, bar code readers, RFID readers and more. We also design and manufacture custom control panels in our in‑house UL Panel Shop and provide complete documentation for control system design, PLC‑based control solutions, HMI design, on‑site commissioning and training.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Automation Controls Engineer you will manage each controls project from beginning to end. You will execute everything including the controls design, project management, installation, field commissioning and training. This position provides a good balance of office, shop and field work and requires detailed project leadership skills, dedication and motivation.
Qualifications- Working knowledge of motor‑driven roller conveyor control systems with multiple manufacturers, preferably Itoh and Pulse roller.
- Extensive experience with carton and pallet conveyor controls including sortation systems, barcode readers, RFID, and HMI design.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming, PLC hardware and software (Allen Bradley & Direct Soft/Direct Logic primarily).
- Experience with AutoCAD and ability to produce and edit drawings as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 50‑75%.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and on call as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent 4 years field experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years related field experience.
- Deep understanding of bar code scanning processes in conveyor sortation systems between scanning bar codes and WCS and WMS systems.
DOE 80k-120k*. Very competitive salary.
