OT Integration Lead Engineer
Location:
70 percent remote, 30 percent travel:
East Peoria, IL, Goldsborough, NC, Booneville, MO, Menominee, MI and West Plains, MO
Design and implement solutions for collecting data from shopfloor equipment (PLC, CNC, sensors, etc.)
Identifying tags in the PLC, configure and manage OPC UA servers for secure and reliable data exchange. Map and configure PLC tags for data acquisition and monitoring. Ensure machine connectivity using industrial protocols and standards. Integrate shopfloor data with MES, SCADA, and cloud platforms. Ensure compliance with ISA-95 and other industrial standards. Optimize data collection for high availability and low latency.
Implement robust error handling and diagnostics for connectivity issues. Lead a team of engineers for deployment and support. Work closely with automation, IT, and data analytics teams. Act as the primary technical liaison during customer site visits.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Strong experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.). Hands-on experience with OPC UA servers and industrial communication protocols. Deep understanding of industrial protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, Ether Net/IP, Modbus, and other machine connectivity standards. Knowledge of industrial IoT platforms and edge computing. Familiarity with SCADA/MES systems. Experience with scripting (Python, Node.js) for data handling. Understanding of networking and cybersecurity in industrial environments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or related field. 8+ years of experience in industrial automation and data integration.
