Job OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer supports production by assisting senior engineers in implementing manufacturing techniques, processes, tools, and equipment to improve quality and output. This role helps develop and update product designs, BOMs, and work instructions while working closely with engineering and production teams. You will also ensure products meet industry standards and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
Responsibilities- Understanding and implementing Harger technical designs/drawings
- Attending Harger engineering meetings when necessary
- Prepare BOM’s for all Harger new and updated products
- Develop the routing for Harger products based on the operations of the cells being used to manufacture the product
- Document all historical quality data for record keeping and future reference use
- Maintain knowledge of all current UL and ASTM specifications for the products.
- Knowledge of materials, coatings, and processes associated with manufacturing Grounding and Lightning Protection wires.
- Process AutoCAD drawings and design for new and existing products. Equipment and products are noted below but it is not an inclusive list.
- Process ECOs and MECOs.
- Design, develop and oversee manufacturing process with all equipment and tooling for products.
- Create and modify routings for existing and new products.
- Create BOM’s for existing and new products.
- Make recommendations for new equipment, fixtures, tooling, and processes.
- Review all blueprints to ensure they are up to required revision levels.
- Create or assist in development of work instructions for manufacturing use.
- Assist Engineering Manager and Plant Manager on projects, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical/mechanical engineering position
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of cellular and lean manufacturing.
- Knowledge of UL standards.
- Knowledge of ASTM standards.
- Effective communication skills; written and oral.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient math ability.
- Work independently with little supervision or no supervision.
- Proficiency in the following programs are a must:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- AutoCAD
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, walking, talking and arm and finger movement.
- Work performed in an office environment and occasionally in the manufacturing plant.
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.
Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
