Battery Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Battery Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves participating in the development of process plans for battery production lines, collaborating with various teams to achieve project milestones, and ensuring the successful execution of equipment procurement and installation. The engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining advanced cleanliness protocols and supporting the implementation of network systems on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

+ Participate in daily written and verbal reports up to the Senior Manager level.

+ Develop process plans for battery production lines within the Battery PE department.

+ Collaborate with engineers, construction management groups, technicians, vendors, and general contractors.

+ Plan and execute equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and pre-production trials.

+ Lead or support equipment trials to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.

+ Implement shop floor-level network systems, including Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM).

+ Apply knowledge of OPC-UA, CC-Link, SQL, and SCADA systems in network system plans.

+ Configure manufacturing equipment PLCs for network systems connectivity.

+ Identify punchlist items, conduct root cause analysis, and manage countermeasures.

+ Summarize KPIs, handle mass-production handover, and support production issues.

+ Engage with cross-functional teams to discuss project schedules and milestones.

+ Create and maintain detailed schedules and budgets for assigned areas.

+ Complete internal and external training programs.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field.

+ 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency in PLC programming, including reading, interpreting, and modifying.

+

Experience with SQL/Oracle or other databases.

+ Knowledge of Cisco networks and machine network maintenance.

+

Experience with Ignition for programming Andon visualization tools.

+ Project management experience with capital investments over $0.5M.

+ Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings for building facilities and process equipment.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 2D/3D drafting software such as AutoCAD.

+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with Mitsubishi PLC Programming.

+ SCADA Systems experience.

+ MES experience.

+ Familiarity with Kepware software or similar SCADA Data systems.

Work Environment

The role requires working 100% onsite from Monday to Friday  position involves 20% travel within the US, with the potential for international travel in the future. Overtime is expected at about 20%. The job supports the integration of shop floor manufacturing network systems with enterprise IT systems and involves configuring PLCs, managing network connectivity, and supporting SCADA/MES systems. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and during shutdown periods as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
