As Quality Engineer – NDT at Siemens Energy's Winston Technology Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring product and process quality through the development and maintenance of measurement systems that monitor capability and drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate with operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to resolve non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and support manufacturing excellence. Throughout your day, you will apply NDT expertise, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies to improve processes, sustain quality standards, and help deliver world-class customer satisfaction and productivity.

How

You’ll Make an Impact
  • Manage quality initiatives by developing and maintaining measurement systems to monitor product and process capability to assure overall product quality and drive continuous improvement activity to achieve world-class customer satisfaction and productivity.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to drive performance to world-class levels.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques (Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), 5 Whys, 8D, Cause and Effect Diagrams, etc.) to determine process improvement actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Possess a strong background and experience using statistical tools, including Gage R&R, and implement statistical process control on critical product and process attributes.
  • Coach and mentor operators, technicians, supervisors, and others in sustaining best practices in quality control.
  • Coordinate research and resolution of non-conformances and other issues.
  • Quarantine and oversee disposition of non-compliant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 15 years of manufacturing experience will be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.
  • ASNT certification in NDE/NDT methods with a minimum Level II certification required;
    Level III certification preferred.
  • Senior-level professional authorized to develop testing procedures, interpret codes and standards, and train Level I and Level II personnel.
  • Experience using statistical tools, including Gage R&R, and implementing statistical process control on critical product and process attributes.
  • Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to determine process improvement actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring operators, technicians, supervisors, and others to sustain best practices in quality control.
  • Experience working in a complex organization supporting new part development and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that focuses on feedback and growth.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
