A Graduate Research Assistant position is available with the Smart Advanced Manufacturing Research Lab at Western Carolina University for a student planning to enroll in the M.S. in Engineering program in Fall 2026.
Focus areas:Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twins, Industry 4.0, manufacturing processes, physical system characterization, sensor data, predictive maintenance, CNC machines, and advanced manufacturing systems.
Preferred background:Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
Favored qualification:Previous knowledge or hands-on experience with CNC machines.
Location:Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, North Carolina
