PLC Controls Engineer

Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods, Inc. is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to support our fast-paced food manufacturing operations in Pasco, WA. In this on-site role, you will design, program, and troubleshoot PLC- and HMI-based control systems for tortillas, chips, and salsa production lines, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. You will collaborate closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to reduce downtime, improve throughput, and implement automation upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and modify PLC and HMI logic for production lines and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot control system issues to minimize downtime and improve line reliability.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams on automation projects and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain electrical and controls documentation, including schematics and programs.
• Implement and support process improvements focused on safety, quality, and throughput.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, and startup of new or upgraded equipment.
• Ensure controls systems comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.

Required Skills

• PLC programming (Allen-Bradley or similar)
• HMI configuration and troubleshooting
• Industrial automation and controls design
• SCADA systems familiarity
• VFDs and motor control systems
• Electrical schematics reading and drafting
• Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
• Control system troubleshooting in manufacturing
• Root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Food manufacturing or process control experience
