Job Description & How to Apply Below

A day in this role

You start your morning syncing with our R&D colleagues in Douvrin, France, aligning on process updates coming from the sister facility. You translate lab-developed procedures into clear production documentation, then walk the line to ready equipment, software, and recipes for a machine-by-machine rollout. Midday, you pull large data sets, apply statistical analysis (e.g., Minitab) to validate yield and productivity targets, and refine parameters.

By afternoon, you coordinate cross-functional changes, confirm ISO
14001 EMS and safety compliance, and capture learnings that move us from trial to stable, scalable production. You close the day with a concise status back to the R&D leadership team in France.

What you’ll do
  • Transfer processes developed in R&D into stable, repeatable plant production, with a strong focus on technology coming from our sister facility in France.
  • Develop and translate process documentation for production use.
  • Optimize processes to achieve defined productivity and yield goals prior to full handoff to plant operations.
  • Plan and manage new process rollouts machine-by-machine, coordinating equipment, software, and recipe modifications.
  • Travel to other manufacturing sites (including European factories) to learn, validate, and industrialize new processes.
  • Define and execute improvement projects that lower cost and/or elevate product quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures and ISO
    14001 EMS guidelines.
  • Query and analyze large data sets to drive data-based decisions.
  • Champion and develop a culture of continuous process improvement across the plant.
  • Report directly to the R&D leadership team in Douvrin.
What you bring
  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to travel to factories in Europe to understand and master new processes.
  • Drive to become the subject matter expert for an assigned process area.
  • Background in optical fiber manufacturing processes (Deposition, Overclad, Fiber Draw).
  • Fluency in French is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) and DMAIC/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Process Engineering.
Collaboration & reporting

This role is the key bridge between R&D and Production. You will partner closely with experts at our sister site in France and report directly to R&D leadership in Douvrin.
