State Reporting and Compliance Accountant - #004254 Position Summary

This position is an integral member of the Controller’s Office and supports the Controller in the administration of essential accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for the University. The role coordinates month‑end close activities, ensures timely Office of the State Controller certification, prepares the University’s 1099 reporting, performs general ledger and operating fund reconciliations, conducts compliance testing, and assists with preparation of financial schedules and specialized reports for University leadership.

• Knowledge of accounting and reconciliation practices
• Ability to prepare financial reports and regulatory filings
• Knowledge of compliance testing and financial controls
• Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively with campus partners

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field and 2‑4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 3‑5 years of experience.

• Licensed CPA in North Carolina.
• Previous accounting experience in higher education.
• Knowledge of GASB.
• Experience with Banner Finance.
