About UsThe NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.
Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
This position reports to the Administrative Officer. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions using NCFS-Procurement.
Key Duties Included:
- Ordering and receiving supplies and equipment in E-Procurement and maintain log.
- Maintaining vendor contracts, checking P-Card business cards in and out and reviewing receipt; reviewing open PO report.
- Running and review budget reports, budget transfers, journal vouchers and PO changes forms.
- Dealing frequently with NCDAC staff, facility staff, and outside vendors regarding purchase orders and/or P-card purchases.
- Verifying checks, process and tracks CNTR
005 payments, entering and monitoring usage orders and running cycle counts. - Communicating well and working well with staff at all levels.
- Maintaining a well-organized filing system.
- Working independently and meeting constant deadlines while performing several tasks simultaneously.
- Backing up the Inmate Trust Fund for inmate accounts.
- Processing daily bank deposits, process DC-440’s for inmate Welfare, process weekly inmate special draws, and processing monthly canteen reports.
Salary Range: $31,200.

About the Division of InstitutionsThe Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
